Fundraising for Columbia Swim Club
Check out our fundraising graph! Watch the pool FILL UP as we meet our goal!
Fundraising is an integral aspect of insuring the longevity of the club and keeping fees affordable.
Swim meets and fees provide the club some of the money necessary to cover expenses, but are not enough to sustain the club. The budget for fundraising this year is $28,000 and requires 100% participation by all families to promote ownership and accountability throughout the club to achieve this goal.
This year the expectation to meet this goal is $150 for each family. Any family feeling they will have difficulty meeting the expectation can contact the fundraising chair for assistance.
There are many different ways to raise funds to meet your expectations!
-
Pay-out on-line option available through Thriva
- Through Thriva a family can do a one time donation or make payments through the year to meet fundraising expectations. Easy and only requires clicking buttons.
-
Meet fundraising options
- During swim meets families will be given opportunities to sponsor events such as 10& under Girls 100 free or to obtain sponsors for lanes during the meet. Information available on this from fundraising chair prior to eligible meets.
-
Social fundraising activities
- Throughout the year CSC participates in social fundraising activities to allow for team-building and fun. Examples of some of the activities: Noodles Dine-In fundraiser where fliers are presented for certain day and the club gets 25% of the proceeds. Shakespeare’s and Chevy’s will do the same for 15% of the proceeds. In August the club goes to Big Surf and $5 of each $20 on-line purchased ticket goes to the club. Houlihan’s offers a Focus Night with CSC approved application for activity where 10% of the entire evening proceeds goes to club. No fliers necessary.
-
Travel fundraising
- CSC has developed a relationship with Tiger Express Carwash where swimmers from the Senior group works a carwash at the Grindstone location for tips on scheduled dates. The club also has red cards available to families and friends to use at no cost. The card is shown at Tiger Express Carwash and a Black and Gold wash is purchased for $15 and $3 go directly back to the club. This money also goes towards travel trips. Please contact fundraising chair if you would like some of the red cards to use
-
Sponsorships for specific club needs
- CSC has developed different scholarships for travel, KFA, Jim Devine Memorial, and tuition that any business, organization or individual can directly contribute towards. The club also has specific equipment fund needs and dryland development equipment fund needs that can be donated towards. Please contact the fundraising chair if you have someone or business interested in contributing for scholarships, equipment such as fins or paddles, lane lines, watches for meets, etc.
-
Corporate sponsorships
- The club is working on developing more corporate sponsorships and currently has $5000 sponsorship for Missouri Sports. The club has qualified for the last time for CVB funds for $7500 for the November meet 2010, but is no longer eligible for these funds. Anyone with ideas or potential relationships with corporate sponsors are greatly encouraged to assist fundraising in developing and procuring new sponsorships.
-
Miscellaneous
- The club has sold 50/50 tickets and Cold Stone coupons to raise money. Members have gotten sponsorships from Orthodontists, Eye doctors, Dermatologist or other entities. If one of these is interested as part of their sponsorship to offer an educational seminar, this can be scheduled. Ex: Skin care during summer by dermatologist. Please consider asking someone about possible sponsorship and the fundraising chair can provide you with the necessary information. If a group of parents are interested in developing a cookbook to sell and want to have a committee for this, the fundraising chair has kits available for this.
- Any ideas from interested parents to follow through on them are welcomed and can contact the fundraising chair.
