Dear Coaches and Swimmers,

A Pre-Scratch timeline has been posted to our website at:

http://www.csctigersharks.org/MOGrandPrix2008/PrelimTimelines021308plus.pdf

These times are, of course, only a rough estimate of event times, but have been provided to help you with your planning.   As noted in a previous email, the 400 Free and 400 IM will swim fastest to slowest in the following heat order: Women 3, 2, 1, Men 3, 2, 1, Women 4, Men 4, Women 5, Men 5, and so on.

Distance positive check-in:

Although the meet information indicates that positive check-in for Monday’s distance events is due at the end of prelims on Saturday, this is an error.  The meet information should have stated that positive check-in is due by the conclusion of prelims on Sunday night.  This is because these events will not be swum until after finals on Monday and will not be seeded until late Sunday night.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

See you soonJ

Dear Coaches and Swimmers,

It’s almost time…the Missouri Grand Prix is only days away and we are very excited to host it!  The psych sheet has been updated and this is the final version that will go to print.  Any issues at this point will have to be resolved at the meet – there are no additional entries.  You can view the psych sheet on the website at:

http://www.csctigersharks.org/MOGrandPrix2008/Psych.htm

Also, a few notes:

  1. There will be some lanes available for loosening up Wednesday and Thursday, but you must contact the Meet Director, Chris Seris, to make arrangements for this.

  2. There will be a Coach’s Meeting at 3:00pm on Friday, exact location TBA.

  3. There will be a designated warm-down lane during the meet for National Team members provided at their request.  It will be marked with cones and will be self-policed.

  4. A reminder regarding the distance events on Monday:  “The top 8 swimmers for the 800 and 1500 freestyle must have achieved their seed time within the last 12 months (since February 15, 2007) in order to swim with Finals.  All other heats will swim as soon as is practicable after the finals session.”

We are looking forward to a very fast meet in Columbia!  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Chris or myself.

Thank you,

Dana Sheahen

Dear Coaches and Swimmers,

It has been brought to our attention that there is something of a disconnect within the meet information about Time Trials. Let’s try to straighten that up now.  Time Trials will be held after PRELIMS ONLY.  What got confused in the meet information is the fact that we are swimming Prelims in the afternoon and Finals in the morning.  The following is a correct statement of how Time Trials will operate:

·         First, we will try to put Time Trial swimmers in empty lanes of early heats of events;

·         Second, where it is not possible to place swimmers in empty lanes, there will be limited time trials at the conclusion of each Preliminary session ONLY (no time trials at the conclusion of finals) beginning with the FRIDAY session. The time trial schedule is as follows:

a.      FRIDAY Time Trials: FRIDAY events, SATURDAY events, SUNDAY events,

b.      SATURDAY Time Trials: SATURDAY events, SUNDAY events, FRIDAY events.

c.      SUNDAY Time Trials: SUNDAY events, FRIDAY events, SATURDAY events.

d.      There will be NO time trials on MONDAY except for those swimmers previously time-trial seeded into Monday’s events.

The meet information regarding time trials has been updated on our website.  Please let me know if you have any questions about this.  We are looking forward to seeing all of you at the Missouri Grand Prix!
