Dear Coaches and Meet Entry Chairs,

The CSC Summer Invitational meet timeline currently indicates an ending time for the Saturday afternoon session of around 8::00pm, and an ending time Sunday of around 8:40pm.  The morning sessions, however, are more manageable.  Consequently, there is room to move the afternoon session start times forward if we move up the meet start time in the mornings, and move up the afternoon warm-ups and start times to the end of the morning sessions.  The following is the revised timeline we propose for Saturday and Sunday, so that all can leave the pool earlier in the evenings.  Friday would not change.

SATURDAY MORNING:     Warm Ups: 7:00 a.m. (no change)

                                     Meet Starts: 8:00 a.m.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON: Warm Ups: NOT BEFORE 12:00 noon

Meet Starts: NOT BEFORE 1:30 p.m.

SUNDAY MORNING:         Warm Ups: 7:00 a.m. (no change)

                                     Meet Starts: 8:00 a.m.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON:     Warm Ups: NOT BEFORE 11:30 a.m.

Meet Starts: NOT BEFORE 1:00 p.m.

Please let me know by Thursday at 6pm if you have any objection to this revision.

Your prompt attention in this matter is appreciated as we need to make sure everyone is ready and volunteers are in the right place at the right time!

Dear Coaches and Meet Entry Chairs,

We have had a question regarding the Saturday limited events.  The question was, can we offer more spaces for swimmers in overfilled limited events since some limited events are not at the maximum.  Since we had already allotted those spaces in our timeline, the answer is YES!!  Generally, we will fill any available space we can in the unfilled limited events with swimmers who have been cut from their limited events.  Priority will be given to same gender, then same age group, then finally different gender and age group of the same event.

So, at this point, before scratches, the following will be able to swim:

· Event #37 Women Open 400 IM – Top 33 entries (1 with 13-14 Boys)

· Event #38 Men Open 400 IM – All 45 current entries (5 with 13-14 Boys and 1 additional heat)

· Event #39 Women 13-14 400 IM – All current entries

· Event #40 Men 13-14 400 IM – All current entries

· Event #53 Women Open 400 Free – Top 32 entries

· Event #54 Men Open 400 Free – Top 43 entries (3 with 13-14 Boys and 1 additional heat)

· Event #55 Women 13-14 400 Free – Top 32 entries

· Event #56 Men 13-14 400 Free – All current entries

This should give more swimmers opportunities to swim, which is our goal.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Dear Coaches and Meet Entry Chairs:

Thank you for entering the new CSC Summer Invitational.  We have had a very healthy response and will have approximately 590 swimmers in the meet.  The psych sheet for limited distance events is attached.  Here’s a summary of how we will proceed from here for the limited events:

LIMITED EVENTS

· All 12&Under 200 IM, 200 Free, and 400 Free swimmers currently entered will swim.

· All 1500 Free and Men’s 800 Free swimmers currently entered will swim.

· Friday Women’s 800 Free is over-filled and will be limited to the top 40 per the meet information.

· Saturday afternoon 400 IM and 400 Free will be limited to the top 32 per the meet information.

· You may switch your swimmer out of an over-filled event to another event offered that day if you wish.  The deadline for that switch is Sunday, June 15 at noon.

SEEDING and SCRATCHES

· Friday distance events will have positive check-in.

· Friday afternoon events will be pre-seeded.

· Saturday and Sunday events will be deck seeded after scratches, which are due at 6:00pm on the previous evenings.

· If you have any scratches before the meet, please email me.

That’s it for now!

May 20, 2008

Dear Coaches and Meet Entry Chairs,

Thank you for entering the 2008 CSC Summer Invitational at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.  Your entries have been accepted and you will be receiving another email from me with a listing of your entries and any questions about your file.  We are very excited to be hosting our first long course invitational, at least our first in recent memory!

A few notes:

· We have a healthy number of entries at this point, but the meet is still open.  So…if you have additions they will be accepted until the meet entry deadline of Tuesday June 10 or until the meet closes if we do fill to capacity before then.  If the meet fills, this will be posted on our website and I will send an email.

· We will be accepting updates and changes to your entries until the deadline June 10.

· Please do not send me “hand entry” updates.  If you do have an update or change, make that change to your Team Manager or Splash Central file and send that new file to me.

· After June 10, I will email a psych sheet for the limited events.  At that time, you will have an opportunity to switch any swimmer not making the limit cut into an alternate event.  I will give you a deadline at that time.

· Please be sure all your swimmers (including those college kids!) are USA registered.  I will be sending the file to Dulcy on June 11 to check for exceptions.

If you have any questions or concerns, please send me an email.  I will keep you updated via email and with postings to our website as new information becomes available.

We look forward to seeing you in Columbia!

April 30, 2008

Dear Coaches and Entry Chairs,

The new CSC Summer Invitational is coming up and the meet information has been posted for a couple of weeks.  We have just discovered, however, that we mistakenly left out the 50 Fly events!  Consequently, we have issued a revised invitation with a corrected order of events.  The 50 Fly will take place on Saturday morning before the 400 Free.  All the event numbers from that point onward have been changed. SOOOO…..we have also issued a revised TM events file, and have modified the events on Splash Central for those who use that system.

If you have already loaded the previous TM events file, please delete it and load the new one, which can be found along with the revised invitation on our Summer Invitational webpage at: www.csctigersharks.org/CSCSI2008

If you use Splash Central, we have corrected the meet named “2008 CSC Summer Invitational”.  This should not affect any entries you have already worked on, but please check your entries to be sure.   Existing events have been renumbered and new events 31, 32, 33, and 34 have been added.  These may appear at the bottom of the session out of order.

We apologize for any confusion or extra work this will cause.  Please let me know if you have any problems with the new files.

Thank you,

Dana Sheahen
